D20     Sexual Health Education (Grades 4-7)
Kamloops teachers! Are you nervous about teaching the Sexual Health curriculum in your intermediate classes? This workshop will focus on developing teachers’ confidence, comfort and knowledge-base so that they can feel comfortable and prepared to provide engaging, inclusive and shame-free lessons about puberty to their students. Bring your questions and be prepared to have fun!
Topics covered:
  • Why is sexual health education so important?
  • The role of the teacher in Sexual Health Education
  • How to teach puberty in an inclusive and shame-free way
  • How to model comfort with the material and topic for your students
  • How to answer student questions
Martha Soloman (https://mosaicsexualhealth.ca) is a Certified Sexual Health Educator and owner of Mosaic Sexual Health Education. Her mission is to provide children, youth, parents, professionals, community organizations in Kamloops and surrounding regions with high-quality, comprehensive, shame-free and inclusive sexual health education that is engaging and fun!
